Plea agreements reached

District Judge Jerome Owens adjudicated eight defendants with plea agreements April 25.

Shelly Denein Huffman, 36, possession of a controlled substance; agreed to two years deferred probation, $1,000 fine, $140 restitution, $227 court costs, and 120 hours community service.

Carl Lynn Stratton, 49, driving while intoxicated, thrid offense; agreed to three years Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), considered with a misdemeanor and parole review.

LaKisha Gasaway, 30, credit card abuse; agreed to one year state jail, probated two years, $1,000 fine, $236 court cost, 120 hours community service, $60.18 restitution, and attorney fee, considered with a misdemeanor.

Brian Shoulders, 21, robbery; agreed to five years TDCJ, probated five years, $2,500 fine, $236 court cost, 240 hours community service, attorney fee, considered with an aggravated assault charge.

David Walker, 33, forgery; agreed to one year state jail, 146 credit.

Jermaine Beatty, 29, possession of a controlled substance; agreed to five years TDCJ, 215 days credit.

Lawson D. Turner, 35, driving while intoxicated; agreed to four years TDCJ.

David Carl Smith, 33, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, agreed to 10 years TDCJ.
