Motor Sports The pit area was full of big rigs and fast cars as the United States Modified Touring Series made its first appearance at Motorama Speedway last Friday. The out come of the limited modified "A" was disappointing for Vidorian, John O. Whittington, who drives the #8M for Michael Tanner. He lead all 20 laps but failed to pass tech after the race. The win passed into the hands of Howard Willis, from Liberty, who rode in on John O's bumper. Corey Babbitt was awarded the runner-up spot. However, things began to look up, when a crew member picked up a spare motor at Whittington's shop and they changed it out in time for his heat race. He finished fourth in that position round and then had to compete in a B-Main which earned him a ninth row starting position in the feature. At the finish line, Whittington wheeled in fourth. Double wins were posted in both stock classes. Chase Breezy won a heat and feature in the outlaw stock portion of the show. Shannon Mills also won a heat and placed 5th in the main. This week, pure stocks are running for bonus money at Motorama.
