Walking the halls
By MERVIN CLEVELAND Jasper Junior High School Principal

It is hard to believe that there are only eleven days of school remaining for this year. How quickly this school year has passed.

I hope the "walks" we have taken this year have given you a little insight about the many things that have occurred on the junior high campus. As I reflect back and compare the level of maturity that I saw in the students when they first entered junior high with what I see now, I can truly say that I can see growth in their maturity level.

A number of the students have had some successes as well as failures. I only hope that these events will make them a better person. They have reached the middle stage of their educational career. They are now what I consider "young adults under construction."

Some changes are on the "board" for next year. I hope to share them with the students and parents before the end of this school year. Some students who, for some unknown reason, were not successful during the regular-school year will have the opportunity to participate in our extended year program for advancement to the next grade.

I thank all the junior high parents for letting the staff and administration have an active part in your son's/daughter's life this year. So, until next year, have a safe and happy summer.
