Sprints bring racing to Motorama this Friday They're back. ASCS sprints wheel into Motorama this Friday for their second appearance of the season. Cars touring with this series come from five states and each driver is campaigning for regional and national honors. In their first thrill packed show, Jason Johnson of Louisiana captured the top prize. Thirty-six, rim riding sprints battled their way through six races in that first performance, with five of them paying the ultimate price by flipping. Also, scheduled to race are three of the favorite Motorama classes: Limited Modifieds, Pure Stock and Jr. Mini Stock. In last Friday's races, Vidorian, John Boutte won his first pure stock feature. Brandon Spurlock was the runner-up. Moose Small and Roger Kettl also posted their first pure stock heat wins. Gary Watson, who will be driving a sprint this Friday, was campaigning a mod. stock and won the first position round. In the feature he finished third behind Ernest and Bubba Haynes. Johnny Holden won the limited modified feature, with Eddie Holley pulling in second. Bobby Fehring won the limited heat but, after leading nine laps, went out of the feature with a flat Darryl Seals and Robert Corbello won the modified heats but at feature time John O. Whittington took the spotlight. Runner-up was Johnny Brown. Jr. Mini Stocks were back in action. Mason Baker won the heat with Shelby Richardson taking second. Their roles reversed in the Jr. main.
