They are great for the youth, but with so many performing this vital function in all of the communities that we serve, this would be the only way to effectively get your message out to the general public.

Coleman Canteen

First Presbyterian Church will hold Coleman Canteen May 25 from 5 - 9 p.m. with dinner, a movie and Christian fellowship.

Spiritually fit

Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church on North Main will hold a mission workshop on "Keeping Spiritually Fit" May 26 with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. followed by classes, praise and prayer lead by G.W. Crawford of Orange. Sunday, May 27, S. Siverand of Galilee Baptist Church in Hitchcock will continue the theme at a 4 p.m. service.

Friends day

Faith Temple Church of God in Christ at 650 Pollard St. in Jasper will host their annual family and friends day celebration May 27 at 3 p.m. with speaker Donald "Ray" Joules of the Prevailers Ministries of Lufkin.

Women's Day Annual

The Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church will host their Women's Day annual May 27 at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be Marion Moore on "Heaven Bound Flight Via Prayer and Faith." Special guest will be Willis Traylor of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Annual choir gathering

Church of the Living God in Brookeland will hold their annual mass choir gathering May 27 at 3 p.m. Speaker will be Melvin Edwards of Mount Zion Baptist Church. For more information call 698-9836.

Memorial Day celebration

All veterans and active duty military will be honored during morning worship service May 27 at First Baptist Church. There will be patriotic music and a covered-dish picnic following service.

COGIC celebration

The First Church of God in Christ will have a 36th anniversary celebration May 27 at 3 p.m. with guest speaker Terry Walters of Live Oak COGIC.

COGIC 26th Anniversary

COGIC will celebrate its 26th church anniversary June 1 at 7:45 p.m. with guest speaker L.D. Matthews of Newton and June 3 at 2:30 p.m. with guest speaker Milton Horn of Jasper.

Magnolia Springs

Spanish ministry

Tanglewood Baptist Church sponsors a Hispanic Mission, Mission Bautista Calvario in Jasper. Worship services are 9:45 a.m. Sunday mornings and Bible study and prayer services are Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. For more information call 384-4727.

Men's breakfast

First United Methodist Church hosts a men's breakfast every Wednesday at 7 a.m. in the Frank Ealand Hall of the church. A home-style country breakfast is served along with a devotional message and prayer time. The breakfast costs $2. For more information, call 384-5735.
