Grand jury indicts eight defendants
      The Jasper County Grand Jury met May 21 and indicted the following eight defendants: Corey M. Kleinpeter, 22, of Sabine Pass for burglary of habitation X 2. Brooke Kleinpeter, 20, of Jasper for burglary of habitation. Shannon Whitehead, 23, of Sam Rayburn for burglary of habitation.

      Ricky Ricardo Cooper, 51, of Jasper died May 20 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston. Funeral Services were held May 26 at the Greater New Bethel Baptist Church in Jasper under the direction of Robinson Community Funeral Home. Burial followed at Springhill Cemetery in Brookeland.
