JISD adjusts dress code for students at campuses

Jasper Independent School District sent letters home last week concerning the new dress code policy.

Student clothing has presented problems in schools across the nation. Instances have taken place where students brought drugs and dangerous items onto campuses.

JISD is proposing the following dress code for boys and girls at Parnell, Rowe, JJHS, JHS and STAR:

1. Shirts that extend 3 ? inches below the waistline or the pants' pocket must be tucked in.

2. Pants with belt loops must be worn with belts.

3. Pants shall be worn at the waist with no visible sign of undergarments.

4. Pants with holes cannot reveal skin or undergarments.

5. Students wearing pants oversized in length or width must be able to walk without holding them up.
