JHS choir wins honors at state level

Jasper High School Choir had eight members compete at the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest Memorial weekend.

These students qualified for the Regional level by earning a First and Superior rating on a Class I solo and ensemble.

Competing members were sophomores Katelyn Dougharty, Jessica Guy, Marcie Ratcliff and Kelsey Walker. Junior singers were Jessica Alvis, Colton Smith and Nicole Spiller. Senior participant was Brittney Hadnot.

Ratcliff brought back a gold medal for her performance of Samuel Barber's "Crucifixion." Alvis brought back gold for her performance of Franz Schubert's "Heiden Roslein."
