Jones to lead Christus Health

Dallas-based Christus Health has announced that Ellen Jones, president and chief executive officer for Christus Health Southwestern Louisiana, will be expanding her role with Christus Health Southeast Texas.

She will continue to serve as president and chief executive officer of Christus Health Southwestern Louisiana, effective June 1.

Christus Health Southeast Texas includes Christus Hospital - St. Elizabeth in Beaumont, St. Mary in Port Arthur and Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital in Jasper.

In her role as the new president and chief executive officer for Christus Health Southeast Texas, Jones replaces Joel Fagerstrom, who resigned from Christus Health to accept a leadership position at St. Luke's Hospital and Health Network in Bethlehem, PA.

"Ellen has expressed her enthusiasm at being given the opportunity to work with excellent leadership teams in the two regions and is strongly committed to devoting full attention to both markets, with which she is well-familiar," Ernie Sadau said, senior vice president of patient and resident care operations for Christus Health.

"Ellen has also shared with me her support and confidence in the leadership and physicians in each of the regions."

While Jones will serve as leader of both Christus health Southeast Texas and Christus Health Southwestern Louisiana, the governance and legal structures of the two regions will remain independent.

"Through her longstanding service to Christus and her many years at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur, Ellen has established and excellent track record in our community," emphasizes Jerry Nathan, chairman of the Christus Health Southeast Texas Board.
