Sabine State Bank focuses on small towns like Jasper

Newsboy photo/ Sharon Kerr SABINE STATE BANK AND TRUST branch manager VinceAnn Taylor received a welcoming hug from Church of Christ minister Bobby South at the ribbon cutting last Friday, June 1.
Sabine State Bank and Trust held their grand opening for yet another Texas branch at 565 E. Gibson in Jasper; they also have offices in Hemphill and Center, and throughout Louisiana.

Branch manager VinceAnn Taylor said the local office employs five people.

Chairman of the board Jim Cole says the bank overall has 44 branch offices in two states with more than half a billion in assets.

"Jasper is a good fit with our marketing ideas for the Sabine River corridor," Cole said. "We're in lots of locations just across the river... Many, Toledo Bend, all over Louisiana."

"We're a big bank that focuses on small towns," Taylor said. "That's very unusual (in the banking business) but we like the atmosphere. The majority of our employees are longtime residents with years of banking experience here."
