Charles Bean

Charles Bean, 63, of Kirbyville died May 28 at his home. Funeral services were held May 31 at Central Baptist Church. Burial followed at Kirbyville Cemetery under the direction of E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.

Survivors include his mother Eloise Bean of Kirbyville; his wife Sandra Bean of Kirbyville; son David Austin of Kirbyville; daughter Margaret Ann Meyers of Jasper; step-sons Johnny Morgan of Kirbyville and Jason Morgan of Ohio; step-daughter Julie Dodson of Colorado; sister Carloyn Bean Carter of Newton; three grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Barbara Harris

Barbara Harris, 66, of Jasper died May 29 at her daughter's home. Private services were under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper.

Survivors include son John Harris of Tucson, AZ; daughters Angela Lacy of Jasper and Leslie Harris of Lufkin; brother Robert Harris of Bridge City; sisters Carol Whitaker of Vidor and Charolette Harris of Florida; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Virginia Evelyn Lane

Virginia Evelyn Lane, 85, of Pineland died May 30 at her home. Funeral services were held June 2 at Bethel Chapel Baptist Church in Pineland. Burial will take place at Lyons Municipal Cemetery in Lyons, KS.

Survivors include daughters Barbara Heap of Rio Verde, AZ and Kay Bowers of Denver, CO; step-sons Tracy Albert Lane of Pineland, Don Dennis Lane of Pineland and Keith Lane of Vidor; brother in-law Leonard Crisp of San Antonio; three grandchildren; six step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Robert Lynch

Robert Lynch, 52, of Jasper died June 2 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held June 4 at Forest Oaks Chapel. Private burial followed at the Byerly Campground Cemetery in Jasper under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper.

Survivors include mother Hazel Carroll and step-father John Edward Carroll of Jasper; son Lucas Lee Lynch of Kirbyville; brothers John Carroll, Donald Sandefer and James Goines, all of Jasper; sister Brenda Kay Pate of Pineland and one grandson.

Bernard Mallett

Bernard Mallett, 75, of Jasper died June 2 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services were held June 4 at Forest Oaks Chapel. Burial followed at the Little Home Cemetery in Jasper under the direction of Forest Oaks Funeral Home in Jasper.

Survivors include sons Tommy Mallett of Jasper, Robert Mallett of Port Neches; daughter Lisa Wood of Jasper; brothers Dan Mallett of Longview, James Mallett, John Mallett and O.W. Mallett, all of Jasper; sisters Bernice Martindale, Loise Ward and Ila Faye Humble, all of Jasper, and six grandchildren.

Mary Elizabeth Rock

Mary Elizabeth Rock, 75, of Burkeville died May 23 at Memorial Herman Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Funeral services were held May 27 at Burkeville Baptist Church. Burial followed at Woods Cemetery under the direction of Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home of Jasper.

Survivors include her daughters Nancy Shirley of Orange and Georgia Hopson of Burkeville; brother Sam Rock Jr. of Burkeville; sister Glenda Campbell of Livingston; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

David C. Smith

David C. Smith, 64, of Erin died May 25 in Tyler. Funeral services were held May 29 at Erin Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Erin Cemetery under the direction of E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville.

Survivors include his wife Mert Smith of Erin; son Chad David Smith of Erin; daughters April Morgan of Erin and Marsha Lowrance of San Antonio; sisters Marian Collier of Vidor, Sally Morgan of Erin and Becky Patton of Warner Robbins, GA; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Sowder

Elizabeth Sowder, 92, of Kirbyville died May 25 at Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held May 31 at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Burial followed at Davis Cemetery in the Beulah Springs Community.

Survivors include her husband Lowell Sowder of Kirbyville; sons Lee Ruby of MD, Gerald Sowder of LA, Earnest Sowder, John Sowder and David Sowder, all of Kirbyville; daughter Patricia Sorensen of Kirbyville; 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

L.C. Sprouse

L.C. Sprouse, 79, of Jasper died June 4 at Dickerson Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Funeral Services will be held, today, June 6, at 2 p.m. at Stringer and Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper. Burial will follow at Brookeland Cemetery.
