Powwow invites all to 'come dance with us'

      The 39th annual Powwow held June 1- 2 on the Alabama Coushatta reservation near Woodville was a mixture of old and new. The event honors tribal traditions from many Native American cultures, but it also serves as a family reunion not unlike the many homecomings held all over East Texas.

Griffin questions county over appointment

4-H offers classes on how to conduct a meeting
      The Jasper 4-H will offer an informal introduction to parliamentary procedures for any 4-H member in the county, according to 4-H adult adviser Dru Miller. The class begins at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 18, upstairs in the county courthouse annex at 271 East Lamar St.
