Memory loss not inevitable "I can't remember!" "What is your name?" these are just a few things people say when they think they are losing their minds. The Texas Cooperative Extension will discuss this subject June 15, 10 a.m. to noon at First National Bank community room in Jasper. Due to limited seating RSVPs need to be made no later than June 14 by calling 384-3721. Most of the time memory loss can generate from "feelings of loss, worry, anxiety, vulnerability and helplessness," said Andrew Crocker, an extension program specialist who will present the program. "Illness, pain and medication may also significantly affect a person's thinking and behavior." Baby boomers that are worried about memory loss, those who take care of the elderly (or will soon) and those interested in how the brain functions will want to attend this seminar. For more information, contact Cindy Lou VanDevender, family and consumer sciences agent, at 384-3721. |
