Lightning strike
ANGELINA RIVER VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPT. and Jasper units responded Monday, June 18, to a report that a lightning strike started a fire at a gas well on County Road 101. Gas wells are well protected against lightning, but a fiberglass mud tank next to the well ignited and firefighters quickly suppressed the flames.
