Plan ahead where you would weather storm

If you are unable to evacuate during a hurricane or major storm, take these precautions.

Go to your safe room, or if you do not have one follow these guidelines:

Stay indoors and away from windows and glass doors.

Close all of the interior doors, secure and brace the external doors.

Keep curtains and blinds closed. Do not let a lull fool you; it could be the eye of the storm. The winds will probably pick up again.

Go to a small interior room, closet, or hallway on the lowest level.

Lie on the floor under a table or another sturdy object.
