Parker, Collins to wed in July

Mike and Melody Parker of Jasper announce the engagement of their daughter, Julie Nicole Parker, to Billy Joe Collins of Elkhart.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Jo Evelyn Cook, the late Bill and Lina Parker and the late Paul Cook. She is also the step-granddaughter of Madeline Parker and Elizabeth Cook, all of Jasper.

The groom-elect is the son of Billy Collins of Elkhart and Carol Collins of Corsicana. He is the grandson of Calvin and Carol Carter of Elkhart.

The wedding is set for July 28 at 2 p.m. at Tanglewood Baptist Church in Jasper.

The bride-elect received her bachelor's degree in nursing from ETBU May 5 and is employed at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview.

The groom-elect will graduate in December from ETBU with a Music Education Degree and intends to pursue a career in a U.S. Military Band.

Following the wedding, the couple will make their home in Marshall.
