William S. "Billy" Morian III, an eighth grade student at Jasper Junior High School, has earned a position on the Texas State Wrangler Junior High rodeo team.

He will travel with fellow teammates to Gallup, NM, July 2-7 to compete at the 3rd Annual Wrangler Junior High Finals Rodeo (WJHFR) in the tie-down calf roping competition.

Morian earned his position, one of four, after competing at the Wrangler High Division State Finals in Gonzales, representing Region V. He qualified for state finals in four events; tie-down calf roping, ribbon roping, goat tying and chute dogging.

Morian will also serve as one of eleven on the Wrangler All-Star Rodeo Team for the state of Texas.

Morian is the son of Martha Morian and Billy Morian Jr., both of Jasper; the grandson of Bill and Ann Morian of Jasper and Lois Richardson of Arizona and the great-grandson of Isabel Morian Millington of Beaumont.
