Book Buccaneers enjoy library programs

Newsboy photos/ Katie Waldrop LIBRARY CLUB READERS participate before the puppetshow and listen to "Mrs. Fickle's Pickles" at their summer reading meeting.
Professional puppet performers, brothers Raymond and Trevor Eastman, gave a puppet show last Thursday to the summer reading kids.

The Eastmans have been professional performers for over 11 years and do everything for their shows from the character's voices, music, the set and more.

With their performance of "Book Bucaneers" the children participated by clapping and talking along with Captain Plankton Pelican and his band of puppet pirates. They helped to lead the pirates to an island where "X" marks the spot to the Captain's buried book treasure.

Later, Andrea Williams read "Mrs. Fickle's Pickles" and the children even got to have pickles afterwards.

The last summer reading day will be this Thursday, June 28 at 10 a.m. Ed Shirley, from the Corps of Engineers, will display the Lewis and Clark expedition.
