Sims graduates basic training

Army Pvt. Marcus M. Sims has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. During nine weeks of training, he studied the Army mission and physical fitness. He received instruction and training in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training.

He received training on drill and ceremony, marching, marksmanship, map reading, field tactic, military courtesyand justice, and basic first aid.

Sims is a 2006 graduate of Jasper High School.He is the son of Hubert and Deborah Sims of Jasper.
