Farm Service Agency open for nominations for ag committee

The Farm Service Agency (FSA) county committee nomination period is an important time for the community because county committee members make federal farm program delivery decisions that significantly affect producers and the areas agricultural sector as a whole, according to Lloyd Ford, FSA county director.

The Jasper/Newton/ Tyler County Farm Service Agency (FSA) is seeking nominations for the 2007 county committee election.

The 2007 election will be held in Local Administrative Area 3 (LAA3). LAA3 encompasses all of Tyler County.

Individuals may nominate themselves or others as candidates. To hold office as a county committee member, a person must meet basic eligibility requirements.

Nominations for candidates to run for the FSA county committee election representing producers in LAA3 will be accepted through August 1.
