As children "Sailed Away With Books" for the last Thursday this summer they sang the theme song

Sail Away With Books,' by Lucas Miller.

Carrie Cook, a patron of the children's library reading program, did sign language to the song 'Only Jesus.'

Ed Shirley from the Corps of Engineers did a portrayal of Private Richard Windsor, one of the men who went with Lewis and Clark on the 'Lewis and Clark Expedition.'

"If it weren't for reading at a young age I would have never been able to find my love for history and get to portray this character," said Shirley.

He told of most of the places that Lewis and Clark went to on their expedition and of all the people and animals they encountered.

As Shirley concluded all the children received prizes, from the oldest to the youngest.

The winner of the most read books in the age seven and up category was nine-year-old Joseph Smith, he received a CD player. The winner of the most read books in the age seven and under category was six-year-old Micaiah Pittman received a pool.

In total 89 children registered for the summer.

'You'll see it all if you look, in the pages of a book. Sail away with books!'
