Law prohibits hunting of wildlife from roads
      With the passage of House Bill 12 by the 80th Texas Legislature, it is now unlawful to hunt any wild bird or animal on a public road or the right-of-way of a public road.

Big Thicket to issue hunting permits at center
      Big Thicket National Preserve Superintendent Todd Brindle has announced improvements to the hunting permit system for the 2007-08 fall hunting season for the Preserve. The improvements will make it easier for the public to receive a free permit.

Donations abound for organization
      The results are in. Hunters for the Hungry had another banner season! Thanks to the generosity of participating meat processors and hunters throughout the state, 175,927 pounds of game meat was donated to over 90 food assistance providers to feed the hungry during the 2006-2007 hunting season.
