DA's office resolves seven more cases Jasper County Criminal District Attorney Steven Hollis reported seven cases were resolved with guilty pleas in Judge Jerome Owens' court July 5. Thomas L. Coleman, 47, of Evadale, charged with burglary, agreed to two years state jail probated for five years; $300 fine and $223 court cost; restitution of $300 to Evadale Independent School District, $3,500 to Rebel Food and $800 to Jasper County; 120 hours of community service. Lacey Michelle Watts, 23, of Bon Wier, charged with forgery, agreed to one year state jail probated two years, $1,000 fine and $236 court cost; restitution of $3,817.52 to Wal-Mart; 120 hours of community service. Melissa Coker, 32, of Deweyville, charged with theft, agreed to two years deferred probation, $500 fine and $223 court cost; restitution of $2,781 to DHS; 120 hours of community service. Charles Murray, 58, of Doucette, charged with burglary, agreed to 18 months state jail to run concurrently with a sentence in Harris County. Lewis D. Williams, 45, of Lumberton, charged with securing execution of a document by deception, agreed to two years deferred probation, $200 fine, $3,735 restitution to the Texas Workforce Commission. Christopher Hadnot, 45, of Jasper, charged with theft, agreed to one year state jail. James P. McKenzie, 32, of Orange, motion to revoke probation, one year state jail. |
