Folk sworn in as immediate past president of DETCOG

The Deep East Texas Council of Governments (DETCOG) installed seven new officers Thursday at its board meeting in Nacogdoches.

The judge from the Four Hundred Twentieth Judicial District of Texas, Ed Klein, administered the oaths of office. The new officers took their positions as of July first.

Nacogdoches County Commissioner, Charlie Simmons, will serve as the new DETCOG Board President. Lufkin Mayor, Jack Gorden, is the new First Vice President. The Second Vice President is Newton Mayor, Rachel Martin. Polk County Commissioner, Tommy Overstreet, will serve as Third Vice President. Serving as Secretary will be Shelby County Clerk, Allison Harbison. Tyler County Judge, Jacques Blanchette is the new Treasurer. Former Jasper County Judge, Joe Folk, will continue serving on the board in the position of Immediate Past President.
