Wendi Brisendine of Lumberton and Aubrey and Tamra Brisendine of Nederland announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Nicole Brisendine of Lumberton, to Joel Cody Alford of Kirbyville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Carol Williams of Lumerton.

The groom-elect is the son of Mike and Vickey Alford of Kirbyville. He is the grandson of Opal Smith of Kirbyville and the late Monroe Smith, Kitty Coates of Deweyville, the late Westley Coates and the late Raymond Alford.

The wedding is set for Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. at Beaumont Country Club in Beaumont.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Lumberton High School and attended Lamar University. She is currently employed for United - Bilt Homes of Beaumont.

The groom-elect is a 2004 graduate of Kirbyville High School and 2005 graduate of LIT of Beaumont. He is currently employed for Johnson Controls of Beaumont.
