Faces & Places CASA Program Advocates for Children, Inc. "A CASA Program," at 908 N. Wheeler in Jasper, is having A volunteer training class July 28 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The training manual is $20 due at the first class and applications must be completed and sent from the Jasper office at 384-2272. Burkeville Homecoming The Bearkat Ex- Students Homecoming will be Aug. 4 at the Burkeville High School cafetorium. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with a business meeting at 11 a.m., dinner at 5:30 p.m. Boater education There will be a boater education class Aug. 4 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Jasper Firehall for $5. Keep Jasper Beautiful Keep Jasper Beautiful will have a luncheon meeting the first Tues. of every month from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the Woman's Civic Club on 156 W. Milam. Advocate residents Volunteers are needed to advocate for and protect the rights of residents in nursing homes. Volunteers will spend time as a Volunteer Ombudsman promoting quality care. No prior experience is required, training and supervision is provided. Must be able to work independently with professional oversight and be willing to submit reports.
