Terlesky - Welwood Nuptials
Amber is the daughter of Mrs. Cathy Clark Terlesky of Bedford, Texas and Mr. Michael Allen Terlesky of Crystal Beach, Texas. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Clark of Hurst, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Gene Terlesky of Sun City, Arizona. Adam is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Curtis Welwood Jr. of Fisco, Texas. He is the grandson of Mrs. Julian Glenn Barber and the late Mr. Julian Glenn Barber of Jasper, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. Steven Curtis Welwood of Dallas, Texas. Preceding the ceremony, guests were seated as a string quartet played a selection of classical music. The families were seated to the music, "Jesus, Joy and Man's Desiring". As the wedding party processed, the organ played "Canon in D'. Serving as matron of honor was Crystal Poskey, sister of the bride, of Hurst, Texas. Bridesmaids were Alyssa Welwood, sister of the groom, of Chicago, Illinois; Michelle Khuu of Irving, Texas; and Monica Carbery, cousin of the bride, of Keller, Texas. Flower girls were Brooke and Allison Poskey, nieces of the bride. The best man was David Watson, of the Woodlands, Texas. Groomsmen were David Feldman of Frisco, Texas; Ian Belle of Washington, D.C.; and Kevin Human of Clemson, South Carolina. Alec Welwood served as his brother's junior groomsman. Attending as ushers were Chris Brantingham of Thousand Oaks, California; Brian Evanger of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; and Adam Haer of Atlanta, Georgia. The bride entered on the arm of her father to the strains of "Rondo from Abdelazar." Her strapless gown of ivory silk duchesse satin featured a ruched georgette overlay accented with tiny Swarovski crystals. The fitted bodice flowed into a full princess style skirt with a cathedral train. Her cathedral length veil of illusion was sprinkled with tiny crystals and was secured to her upswept hairstyle with a sparkling barrette. The bride's bouquet, a nosegay of dendrobium orchids, roses, tulips and hydrangeas, was duplicated in the bridesmaids' bouquets as well as the aisle standards and the double alter arrangements. After the call to worship, the congregation sang the hymn, "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee." The wedding prayer, "How Beautiful," was sung by Sally Wilgus and accompanied on the piano by Vicki Habecker. At the conclusion of the ceremony the bride and groom recessed as the organ played "The Sleeping Beauty Waltz." Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Grand Ballroom of the Adolphus Hotel. Hundreds of crystals and small mirrors, suspended from seven-foot candelabrums on each table, provided a fairyland feeling of elegance. The floral arrangement at the base of each candelabrum carried out the theme of those at the sanctuary. After a buffet dinner and dancing the band to music by The Project, the bride and groom left the reception by a horse drawn carriage under a flurry of rose petals. They honeymooned at Jumby Bay, an island, in Antigua. On the day before the wedding the bride honored her attendants, mothers and grandmothers with a bridesmaid's luncheon at Sambuca Restaurant. That evening the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Maggiano's Little Italy Restaurant. The Welwoods are residing in Dallas where the groom, who graduated from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, is a commercial real estate developer and the bride is an accountant for an apartment management firm. Relatives of the groom, who attended included Mr. and Mrs. David Barber, Glenn and Beth Barber, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Orchin and Taryn Orchin , all of Jasper, Texas; Tiffany Smith and Lauren Orchin of Dallas, Texas; Mrs. and Mrs. W.C. Kelley of Granbury, Texas; and Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Callaway of Baytown, Texas. |
