Ivey receives National Defense Service Medal

Spc. Starr A. Ivey received the National Defense Service Medal and the "Army Service Ribbon" upon completing first in her class July 13 at Ft. Lee, VA.

Before entering the National Guard, Ivey received her bachelors degree in recreation management and administration from Concordia University in Montreal Quebec, Canada in 2005.

Following graduation from Concordia Ivey taught in Japan for one year.

She finished her basic combat training on May 11 at Ft. Jackson, SC.

She is the niece of Master Chief Petty Officer Fredrick J. Ivey/USCG/Ret. and wife Emily of Anthony Harbor.
