Angels offer grocery relief

Community Church of Jasper is the distributor for Angel Food Ministries in this area.

Angel Food Ministries was started 11 years ago and at that time only fed 34 families. By the end of 2006, over 500,000 families were fed across the country.

Angel Food is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that provides grocery relief to anyone in the United States. They work through churches and community organizations.

For $25 a month a family can receive 17 food items. For the month of August a few items on the menu are:

• four - 8-oz. lean hamburger steaks

• 1.5 lbs. boneless pork filet

• 1.25 lbs. turkey pot roast • 11-oz. of breakfast cereal • 8-oz. pancake mix • 1-lb. rice

• one dessert item and more.

Orders can be submitted Mon. - Thurs. 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and on Sunday before or after 10 a.m. worship service at Community Church, 720 South Wheeler St. in Jasper.
