Brenda Gail Mangus

Brenda Gaile Mangus, age 61, died August 4, 2007 in Fort Worth, Texas. Brenda was born January 15, 1946 in Nederland, Texas to Earl and Lydia Spencer. Survivors are; son Jerod McCloud and wife Amy; a daughter, Monica McCloud; a son, Steven Mangus and wife Dana; and a son Derrell Mangus and wife Ginger. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Spencer McCloud, Gabrielle McCloud, Trent McCloud, Cody Faulk, Brendan Faulk, Macie Mangus, Colton Green, Dakota Green, and Marcus Mangus; 2 brothers, Gary Spencer and Berthold Spencer and a sister, Sharon Barclay.

Brenda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur, Texas. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 9, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 329 N. Bowie, Jasper, Texas. with Pastor Tommy Brumett officiating. Burial will follow at Spencer Cemetery, Jasper County, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Community Hospice of Texas, 817-870- 9995.

Jerry Scoggins

Jerry Scoggins, 49, of Jasper died August 2. Funeral services were held August 5 at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville. Burial followed at Zion Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife Cheryl Scoggins of Jasper; daughter Heather Clark of Little Cypress; mother Mary Scoggins of Nederland; brother, Charles Scoggins of Louisville, K.Y.; sisters Charlotte Martinez of Nederland, Faye Crawford of TN, and April Lisenby of Nederland; and three grandchildren.
