Writers Guild

The Sabine Neches Writers Guild meeting will be held Aug. 9 in the meeting room of the RE/MAX Millennium office, corner of Main and Houston St., at 6:30 p.m. Guest will be Katie Moak to discuss the problems one is likely to encounter in selfpublishing a book.

Rose Society

School supplies

Daughters of Destiny is accepting school supplies at the Tomb, 243 N. Main St., in Jasper Aug. 10 - 11 from 9 a.m. to noon. The supplies will be given to families in the area. For more information call Emily at 382-8152.

Rag ball tournament

The Inner Court Ministries of Kirbyville Jerry E. Haynes, Sammy Nash and the GGS team will hold a rag ball tournament Aug. 11 at the Kirbyville Little League Park at 3 p.m.

Fire department fundraiser

The Jasper Lake Sam Rayburn Area Chamber of Commerce new members' luncheon will be Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Lone Star Buffet at 11:30 a.m.

Tyler Task Force

Jasper ISD new student registration at Few will be Aug. 16 - 24 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Parnell will be Aug. 13 - 24 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Rowe will be Aug. 14 - 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., JJHS will be Aug. 15 - 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., JHS will be Aug. 14 - 16 from 8 - 11:30 a.m. and 1 - 3:30 p.m. and to register with STARS call 384- 2720.

Hunter education course

Kenneth Moorehead and the Jasper County Game Wardens will have a hunter education course Aug. 18, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., and Aug. 19, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m., at Ebenezer Park in the Corp of Engineer building, off Hwy. 255.
