Fosters celebrate 50 years
      Bert and Sally Foster of Sam Rayburn will celebrate their 50th anniversary Aug. 18. The Fosters were married in Clarksdale, MS. They have two children, Susan Huggler of Bourne and Dan Foster of Salt Lake City, UT, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.

Walk 800 miles
      The Jasper County Family, Consumer Science Committee and the Extension Office will sponsor a Walk Across Texas starting September 20 with a kick-off event. The team should be seven other people who can walk, bike or jog to try and walk 800 miles in eight weeks.

Applications available for Mrs. Jasper County
      Applications are now being accepted for the 2008 title of "Mrs. Jasper County". Mrs. Jasper County will have the honor of representing her county at the 2008 Mrs. Texas Pageant to be held at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in San Antonio April 11 - 13, 2008.
