Newton Food Share meets needs

Newton Food Share has been meeting the needs of the hungry in Newton for almost three years, according to Joe Miller Jr., pastor at First United Methodist Church.

The Food Share is open on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 - 4 p.m. in the old hospital on Main Street.

"We owe our steady supply of food to a number of contributors," Miller said. "(Thanks to) the local churches and the Southeast Texas Food Bank in Beaumont, we have never run out of food."
