JISD Technology achieves 2006-07 goals

The JISD Technology Department is proud of the accomplishments achieved in the 2006-2007 school year. Many goals were reached due to the joint efforts and support of all departments and campuses.

Goals achieved

• Received over $474,000 in E-rate funding

• Continued training provided for JISD personnel in areas of technology

• Updated backup equipment to power vault system

• Provided projectors, CPS, and document cameras for many classroom teachers

• Continued secondary student use of technology for research, multimedia and graphic presentations

• Installed new backup generator for server room at the Department of Technology

• Updated all network switches at Parnell, Rowe, Junior High and High School

• Installed new security cameras at Technology and STARS campus

• Continued expansion of successful IP Phone system

• Implemented School Messenger a parent phone notification system

• Doubled the internet bandwidth for students and staff

We are looking forward to the 2007-2008 school year with exciting possibilities.
