Discuss bus safety with your child now

The way your child gets to and from school is an important part of your child's day. It is best for your child to have the same transportation each and every day, whether it is as a car or bus rider.

A child who has the same transportation everyday is able to concentrate and participate on daily learning activities rather than be concerned with how he or she is getting home from school.

Parents must notify the school in writing if there is to be a change in transportation for their child.

The note should include date, student's name, specific directions where the child will be riding the bus, the bus number, and parent signature with a telephone number to call if there are problems in changing the transportation.

Only emergency transportation changes will be taken by telephone before 2:30. This policy is necessary for the safety of our students.

If the teacher does not receive a note from the parent concerning a change in transportation, the child will be sent home in the usual manner.

Children who do ride the bus need to be aware of the bus safety rules. Please remind your child of these bus safety rules.

BUS SAFETY RULES Students will:

• cooperate with the driver,

• be on time and stand back from the curb or roadway at the bus stop,

• get to school safely.
