Walking the Halls It is hard to believe how time passes so quickly. In just a few days the students of JISD will be returning to the different district campuses. So, on the behalf of the personnel at Jasper Junior High School, I would like to say that we are looking forward to seeing the returning students and new students to our campus and district. We are all geared up to have an enjoyable 2007-2008 school year. As I have always stated, our primary goal is to give our students the best education they can receive. Our curriculum has been revised to meet the demands of the objectives that TAKS has mandated on all schools. It is my dream that our students will rise up to meet the criteria that is required. We have a staff willing, ready and committed to do everything possible to help our students reach their highest potential. Here are some important daters to remember: • Aug. 15 - 17- new student registration • Aug. 22 - 23 - students pick up their schedule for the coming year • Oct. 15 - this is the day scheduled for parent conferences Other important dates will be given out later. You received a letter at the end of last school year stating the revised dress code for this year. It is important that all students (boys and girls) adhere to the revised dress code rules. Also, all students are responsible for keeping up with their school ID badge. These rules have been put in place as security measures to make the school as secure as possible. With your cooperation we can have a safe and productive school year. Parents, we also want you to know that our doors are open to you. If you have a concern, please feel free to come and share your feelings with us. We want you to feel relaxed knowing that your son/daughter will be well taken care of while he/she is away from you. Remember that we are no more than a phone call away to answer any questions that you may have. On Aug. 27 the 2007- 2008 school year will begin. We will do our best to keep you informed on all important events that will occur on our campus through the newspaper, radio and school news letter. |
