JISD is revising the current dress code. At Jasper Junior High, we are glad for this opportunity to make our school a safer and more positive environment. This also gives our students an opportunity to learn more self discipline and responsibility. Your student's safety is our main concern. Creating a partnership with parents and school will help us achieve this goal.

These are some of the frevisions which apply to boys and girls. For a complete dress code, please see your student's handbook. Parnell, Rowe, Jasper Junior High School and Jasper High School:

Shirts that extend 3 1/2 inches below the waist line or the pants' pocket, must be tucked in; pants with belt loops must be worn with belts, and pants shall be worn at the waist with no visible sign of undergarments.

Pants with holes cannot reveal skin or undergarments. Students wearing pants oversized in length or width must be able to walk without holding them up

Bare midriffs are not permitted. If any part of a student's midriff is exposed (back, front or sides) the student is in violation of the dress code. Shirts must be on the waist when raising arms, bending over or sitting down.

Shorts must be loose fitting and cuffed or hemmed not to exceed 5 inches above the floor when the student is kneeling.

Any attire that is gang related is not permitted. This includes the wearing or display of a bandanna. Any writing on book bags other than the owner's name (not nickname) is strictly prohibited.

Consequences for not following the dress code will include detention, in-school suspension, out of school suspension and possible AEC for persistent infractions.

Your support in these changes will only increase the safety and success of our students. If you have any questions, please contact your child's campus principal.
