New student registration at Few Primary

The start of the 2007-2008 school year is just around the corner. Classes for the new year are scheduled to begin on Monday, August 27.

Students who are new to the district need to register Aug. 16 and 17 and Aug. 20 - 24, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m.

For students who have previously attended another school, documentation of the student's grade assignment and an immunization record are needed for registration.

For four- and five-yearold children who have never attended school before, parents need to furnish the school with a certified copy of the child's birth certificate, an up-to-date immunization record, and the child's social security card.

Eligibility criteria for Jasper ISD's pre-kindergarten program includes the following: The child

• Must be four years old on or before Sept. 1, 2007.

• Is eligible for free or reduced-price school meals.

• Or, is not able to speak and understand the English language.

To register for kindergarten, a child must be fiveyears old on or before Sept. 1, 2007.

By registering now, children can be assigned to a class and come ready to learn the very first day of school.
