Complex, community needs to change view

There is a change going on at 700 Pollard and this time it's for the best.

This week, the apartment complex announced new ownership that is planning a new beginning, new attitude and new name for the complex.

While some may scoff at the idea, we firmly stand behind the new attitude change at the complex.

The complex has long been the source of police activity and illegal drug activity and that has to end now. There are too many young children that are being exposed to horrible world of drugs in this community and it has to stop.

These children, like the ones who live in Holmwood or Hunterwood, are also the future of this community. They deserve the same right to live in a safe and nurturing environment as all our children do.

New programs are being put in place to better the apartment community along with the removal of the "P" word - projects and its association with the complex.

For many, the projects has long been considered the downtrodden part of this community. The black eye that we all turned away from.

While changes are taking place at the complex to better this community, we too must change the way we view his community as well. Those changes have to begin with all of us as well.

We have to move forward and recognize that this community needs our support. Whether it's through personal involvement or through prayers, this community needs to be brought up and made a welcome part of the entire Jasper community.
