Court accepts plea bargains

In Judge Jerome Owens' court last Wednesday, Aug. 15, the following cases were decided:

Clifton A. Stanley, 24, of Jasper pleaded guilty to two counts of burglary of buildings and received one-year state jail sentences for each, to run concurrently.

Steven D. Barthol, 25, of Jasper, pleaded guilty to evading arrest and received a one-year state jail sentence, in consideration with a felony theft charge.

Daron J. Williams, 22, of Jasper pleaded guilty to burglary of a building and received two years deferred probation, a $500 fine, $223 and $236 court costs, $850 restitution to the victim, and 120 hours community service.

In a motion to revoke probation, Frederick Goleman, 45, of Jasper was sentenced to four years at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice on a third degree charge of driving while intoxicated.

Two motions to reduce bond were denied: Tiffany Broussard, theft x 9, bond $72,500; and Arron Hupp, theft x 4, bond $50,000.
