E. E. Latham

E.E. Latham, age 99, died peacefully Sunday, August 12, 2007 at Timberlake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Jasper. Funeral services were held August 16, 2007, at The First Baptist Church of Jasper.

Elzie was preceded in death by his parents Emmette and Christian Latham, wife Lucille Maxwell Latham, son Kenny Latham, brothers Walter and James Latham and his sister Hazel Latham Perkins. He is survived by many loving nephews and nieces. His nephew Max Alvis of Jasper would like to thank the faithful friends and caregivers for their love and support in recent years.

In 1955 Mr. Latham became president of the Morgan & Lindsey Company headquartered in Jasper and continued as president when the company moved the headquarters to Monroe, LA. After his retirement he returned to Jasper where he continued his community and church involvement. He was married to Bernice Slover Richardson until her death in 2000.
