Funeral services for Wendell H. Holmes, 82, of Jasper, were held August 21, 2007 at Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home in Jasper, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery.

Wendell died Saturday, August 18, 2007 at his home in Jasper, TX. He was a native of Farrsville, TX and had lived in Jasper for many years. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include his sister Mary Helen Dickerson & husband C.W. of Jasper; one stepson James "Bubba" Miller of LA; four stepdaughters Pam Hooper of GA., Sandy Pence, Helen Garris & Diane Williams all of LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. & Ruby Holmes & wife Joan Miller Holmes.
