Master Sgt. Blueitt retires from Air Force

Air Force Master Sgt. Curtis R. Blueitt has retired from the U.S. Air Force after more than 23 years of service. Air Force Col. Pauletta D. Blueitt presided over the retirement ceremony held at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

In recognition of his retirement, MSgt. Blueitt was decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal at his ceremony.

He joined the Air Force under the delayed entry program in 1984 and served in the medical field until 1987, when he went into the communications field.

He has also been decorated with four awards of the Air Force Commendation Medal, three awards of the Air Force Achievement Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.

MSgt. Blueitt is from Flint, MI and is the son of the late Jesse G. and Gloria D. Blueitt.

He is the brother of Janet M. Jackson of Commerce Township, MI and Steve A. Blueitt of Flint, MI. His aunt, Ada J. Phillips, resides in Kirbyville.

MSgt. Blueitt is married to the former Teresa L. Polk. They have two children, Devin and LaKeshia, and one grandon, Genesis.
