Erin causes washout of races at Speedway

Last week's sprint show at Motorama Speedway was a washout due to tropical storm Erin. So, you know what that means. All the competitors, in the track's regular fast lane classes, will come to the track with high hopes and cars in high gear this Friday. Racers really can't stand a week off...and when they do return to action the thundering clashes and crashes heard will be from their all out efforts to put on a thrill show for their fans.

The gates at Motorama Speedway, located on W. Hwy. 90 between Beaumont and China, open at 5 p.m. Hot laps are made at 7:30 p.m. with racing underway at 8 p.m. The ASCS sprints will return on Friday, Sept. 28. All of the other races in September (1, 8, 15, 22) will be held on Saturday nights and start at 7 p.m. However, the remaining two races in August (this week and the next) will still be on Friday nights.
