WOODVILLE'S NEXT FOUR CONTESTS The Eagles open their season with a tough Coldspring opponent on the road. The Trojans finished last year 4-1 in district play and this year will be under the leadership of Bryan Barbay, former defensive coordinator for Kirbyville. Sept. 7 at Splendora Woodville's second straight road contest doesn't get any easier as the Eagles travel to take on the Wildcats of Splendora. The Wildcats are the defending Class 22-3A champions and return nine starter from that squad. Sept. 14 at Warren The Eagles third straight road contest to start the season finds them in Warren. The Warriors return 10 players from last year's 4-6 squad. Key players to watch are Travis McBee and Brazos Morris. Sept. 21 Shepherd The Eagles finally play their home opener with the Eagles host the Shepherd Pirates. The Pirates will welcome back starting quarterback Seth Keith after he missed most of last season with a knee injury. Chaz Caddie also returns at running back after rushing for more than 1,200 yards last year for the Pirates. |
