Alumni support JPSF Foundation The JISD alumni association Fundraisers this year has big plans for 2007-08, according to president Shirel Womack, who celebrated his 50th reunion last year. The alumni association always has a homecoming tailgate party in the fall, and local alumni work hard to support Project Graduation in the spring. But this year, Womack says Project #1 will be to raise funds to support the Jasper Public Schools Foundation (JPSF). Five dollars of each alumni's dues goes to the foundation. JPSF was created so alumni and friends of Jasper schools could support and participate in the activities of the Jasper Independent School District. Presently JPSF is focused on supplementing classroom instructional needs as identified by JISD staff. Womack said, "The Give-a-Gift program last year gave money to teachers to support enhanced learning projects, and we want to continue that tradition." will include selling memorial paving bricks for an alumni plaza at the high school. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to support the foundation by giving monetary gifts to honor birthdays, anniversaries, graduation and other significant events of friends and loved ones. Memorial gifts support the foundation and honor the memory of loved ones. Employees of JISD can support JPSF through an automatic payroll deduction plan. The foundation is a taxexempt organization. All gifts are acknowledged with a letter from JPSF documenting the money received, and 100 percent of all donations support JISD students.
