Grand Jury

The grand jury met Aug. 28 and indicted six defendants for the following alleged offenses:

Tex C. Birdwell, 47, of Bronson for prohibited substance in a correctional facility

Michael A. Sanders, 25, of Jasper for aggravated sexual assault of a child

James. D. McMurray, 41, of Buna for driving while intoxicated

Josh Leming, 19, of Kirbyville for burglary of a habitation

Joe Don Jenkins, 29, of Spurger for burglary of a habitation

Larry McHale III, 40, or Arlington for burglary of a building

An indictment does not mean these defendants are guilty, but that the grand jury found sufficient evidence to proceed with trial.
