Sept. 7 Carthage

The Wildcats return for their home opener against a tough Carthage squad. Running back Gary Tatum leads the Bulldogs as he rushed for 887 yards and seven touchdowns last year. Sept. 14 Open Sept. 21 at Liberty

The Wildcats final tuneup for the start of the district season comes on the road against the Liberty Panthers. Linebacker Dante Winters leads the Panthers defensively after recording a team-high 99 tackles last year.

KEY GAME OF PERIOD

Sept. 28 at Jasper

The Wildcats open up District 21-3A play against rival Jasper at the Bone Yard. Jasper will be looking to avenge last year's 28-21 defeat in Kirbyville. The game is vital to both squads who are looking to get their district season off to a good start.

While both teams insist to not looking beyond its opponent, Kirbyville must have keep their blinders on and not look to the following week's matchup with West Orange- Stark.
