Jasper's defense to face test with Newton running backs

      It's time for Newton- Jasper. The rivalry will be taken up this Friday in Singletary Stadium when Jasper travels to take on Class 2A Newton. Newton Head Football Coach Curtis Barbay believes last year's Bulldog squad was the best team his Eagles faced last year.

Kirbyville turns back Jasper in volleyball opener in three games

      Jasper's varsity volleyball team lost their first district match to Kirbyville in four games Tuesday, Sept. 4. The Lady Cats took the first two games, 25-17 and 25-13. The Lady Bulldogs rallied in game three to go up 25-22, and took an early lead in game four before losing 20-25.
