Amanda Jane Rogers Amanda Jane Rogers, 87, of Jasper, passed away Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Timberlake Health and Rehabilitation Center. A native of Scranton, AR, she had lived in Ft. Smith for 56 years before moving to Jasper a year and a half ago to be nearer her daughter. Ms. Rogers was an excellent quilter and seamstress, as well as an avid sports fan, especially when her children, and grandchildren were involved. She was also a longtime member of the Midland Heights Methodist Church. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris, AR with burial to follow at McKendrie Cemetery in Paris. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, William Houston Rogers, Sr, by 3 of her sisters, Clydelia O'Bar Reedy, Hazel Wiggins, and Nema Rhea Inman. Ms. Rogers is survived by her sons and daughters-inlaw, James C. Rogers, and wife Carole and Bill Rogers, Jr. and wife Dale, all of Ft. Smith, AR; by her daughter, Mary Jane Hancock of Jasper, TX; Two sisters, Corene Cotton of Paris, AR and Jackie Conner, whom she raised of Pt. Arthur, TX, and also by her sister-in-law, Virginia Newman of Ft. Smith, AR. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jimmy, Mike, Jason, Justin, Jeff, Julie and Janie, by eight great-grandchildren, and many other special nieces and nephews.
